The CyberData Ethernet IV Connect-IT module is a low-cost alternative to the Epson-supplied UB-E02 for many applications. OPOS-compliant with built-in diagnostics and PC-based network discovery tool for use in all Epson POS printers that support Connect-IT modules. Tested and Operational with Epson's New T88-5 Printer.
Check to see if the current firmware of your module is the latest version before attempting to update. Download the latest version firmware and the Discovery Utility EEIUtil4 zip file. The EEIUtil4 zip file contains the utility and a tftp executable. These files should be unzipped to a single directory of your choosing along with the firmware .bin file. The PC should be on the same Ethernet subnet as the Ethernet IV module and printer for the utility to be able to discover the printer. The tftp.exe is called from within the EEIUtil4 utility when Update Firmware is selected on the utility menu.
This error may occur in Windows XP. The following steps are a temporary solution to fix the "TFTP Error on Server" message until an updated utility is available: (1.) Make sure that the tftp.exe file is in the same directory as the EEIUtil4.exe file. (2.) Put the v104_Tftp.bin file in the same directory as the tftp.exe and EEIUtil4.exe file. (3.) Make sure the directory has no spaces in its name. For example, ("C:EEIUtil") is correct. However, "C:Documents and Settings" is incorrect. (4.) Try to upgrade the firmware again.
This is fixed by upgrading the Ethernet IV firmware to v1.04.
TMNetConfig v.3.10, TMFlashWriter v. 4.00 , APD v.4.10.
