Sovtek 5881

The workhorse of the 5881 family. This is most commonly used 5881 on the market today. If you have a 5881-based amplifier, chances are this was the tube that came stock. It has solid, military-spec build quality, which makes it very sturdy and dependable. If you just want a tube that is just plain going to work and work and work and not cost big $$$, this is the tube for you. They sound pretty darn good too.

The 5881 can be used as a replacement for the 6L6GC, however it is a lower dissipation tube, which means less power, and you may need to back off the bias slightly depending on your amplifier. Consult your amp's owner's manual first. To be honest... if your amp can use the 6L6GC, I'd stick with that.
