As a plant grows tall, we often stake it with a vertical element to support its growth. In this case, I wanted to design a planter with a dedicated location for a climbing dowel. The small cylinder resembles a chimney within the pot, and the outer bowl acts as the saucer. A glossy terra cotta glaze runs in a gradient, deepening in color at the bottom to emphasize the shadowed curve of the vessel. — Tung Chiang
